FAQs

How long prior to departure should traveler get vaccinated?

The Travel Clinic NYC encourages that you plan ahead. Ideally travel vaccines should be administered 4-6 weeks prior. Shorter time spans are acceptable. This allows time for travelers to receive travel vaccines that must be administered in a series. However, shorter time spans are acceptable. At the Travel Clinic NYC it’s always better to come late than not at all.

Are medical insurances covering the office visit and vaccinations?

Unfortunately, most insurance policies do not cover travel vaccinations. Under certain circumstances, your insurer may cover for certain preventive medications (antimalarial or diarrheal medicine). But, either way, the Travel Clinic NYC will provide you with a detailed super bill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement to you. Be aware that getting reimbursed is not a guarantee and this process is between you and your insurance company, not with our travel clinic.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express
